General Appearance: Friendly, elegant, fine-boned, lively; different from other breeds because of his beautiful butterfly-like ears.

Size, Proportion, and Substance: Height - 8 to 11 inches at the withers.

Background: Papillon, the French word for "Butterfly," he acquired this name for his butterfly-like ears. A toy breed with a delicate nature, the Papillon prefers adult company. He's very intelligent and highly trainable, but may become vocal if not corrected early on. The Papillons long coat only needs regular brushing to keep it in good condition.
