General Appearance: Active, alert, strong, resembling his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance.

Size, Proportion, and Substance: Height-12 to 14 inches at the withers.

Background: The Miniature Schnauzers is a prime companion dog. He's devoted and playful. Schnauzers are sweet, proud dogs that love to be the center of the family. They make a sturdy playmate for children, and are excellent watchdogs. Schnauzers are pleasant house dog who enjoys people's company, but may be a little cautious around strangers. His wiry coat shed little, but must be clipped every 8-12 weeks.
